MUSH stands for Multi-User Shared Hallucination. It is a kind of text-based online game that follows a certain theme. The theme of Elendor is Tolkien's Middle-earth. There are many other varieties of MUSH on the net too. Some go by other acronyms such as MUD (Multi-User Dungeon), MUX (Multi-User eXperience), etc., and they all each have their own specific theme and focus. Collectively these Multi-User online games are referred to as MU*'s.

To play a MU*, you need a piece of software on your machine called a "client program." Client programs range from extremely small and simple, like the simple telnet program that comes with all versions of Windows, to highly sophisticated clients developed specifically for playing MU*'s. Most are free or shareware, and are available for immediate download. Once you have a client, you can use the same one to play all the MU*'s on the net. Click on the first link below to find and/or download a suitable client program for you.
